Adam Brown, Coach
Adam Brown is in his sixth year as a high school teacher at Bolingbrook High School. He was born and raised in Schaumburg, IL. He attended Eastern Illinois University, where he earned his bachelors degree in business education. While earning his degree, Adam also competed on the varsity swim team for 4 years. Adam now resides in Aurora, IL with his wife Melanie, son Luke, and daughter Lucy. He also will be receiving his master’s degree from Concordia University in spring 2008.
In 2002, his brother Aaron allowed him to borrow his triathlon bike and Adam competed in his first sprint triathlon. It wasn’t his greatest performance but he was hooked thus beginning his triathlon career. After three years of racing shorter distances, Adam made his Ironman debut finishing in 10:42. That result was nice but he wasn’t satisfied. He wanted to qualify for the Ironman World Championships. In 2006, Adam was 24th overall at Ironman Wisconsin finishing in 10:00. Most recently, Adam finished in Hawaii in 9:55. In the upcoming years, Adam is expecting to make his mark on the Ironman scene and hopes to race professionally.
2007 marks Adam’s first season coaching for Endure It! Sports. Though he specializes in coaching athletes at the half to full Iron distance races, he has competed in and coaches those who race sprints and Olympic distances as well.
