Endure It! Race Results
Endure It! Dominates Once More - It took a lot to match the impressive results of our last update, yet you got it done again. The Women of Endure It Racing represented the club with style and with class at the Naperville Women’s Sprint Triathlon on June 22nd. Jenny Garrison, who is the defending champion (2006 & 2007), took home 3rd overall just a couple months removed from having her daughter, Molly. Mary Tobiason crossed the line ahead of any other age grouper, finishing 1st in the AG category, and 6th overall. The Women in the blue and white combined for a total of 8 podium finishes, with Kathleen Weisman joining Mary with a much earned age group win.
Other notable performances include Endure It’s Adam Brown taking the overall win at the Elkhart Lake Olympic triathlon. Jenny Finished 4th overall on the women’s side. Neal Charleston, once again had a great duathlon showing, finishing 4th overall at the Met Life Duathlon. Endure It’s newest staff member, Colin Riley also competed very well at the Hy-Vee Olympic Triathlon finishing 13th of 1257 athletes.
Congratulations to Rick Lapinski and Pattie Darling who each finished a very respectable 24th in their age group at Ironman Cour d’Alene. Congratulations also to Ron Good who was the 4th Illinoisan at the Illinois “old guy” (50+) Crit Championships in Wooddale.
Check out some of the club race results below. Once again great job to everybody, and if you don’t see yourself in the results please send your results/pictures to dan@endureitsports.com.

Endure It! Open Water Swim Training!
Tomorrow evening Tuesday July 8th at 6:30pm endure it club is meeting for an open water swimming training session at Ohio Street Beach in downtown Chicago. Open water swim training is of course an important aspect to any triathlon and not easily accomplished here in the western Suburbs. The beach is located just north of Illionois street and Lake Shore Drive (roughly 600 N Lake Shore Drive). Plan on swimming for one hour, afterwards we will meet for dinner and drinks. I was at the beach yesterday and I would recommend wearing a wetsuit, my guess is the water is about 70 degrees.
Please respond to this email if attending so I will have an expected number for a dinner reservation.
Please understand there are many ways to access the beach depending on where you are coming from as well as numerous parking opportunities. With this in mind I will not provide directions and parking recommendations or any other advice on how to make this trip.
I hope everyone has a chance to make this unique road trip to the big city and I am sure we will all have a few laughs!

July Club Meeting
2008 Endure It! Technical Seminar
The most requested club meeting will be held Tomorrow evening, July 2nd, 7:00 pm at Endure It! Day after day we are constantly asked questions from how to:
-fix flats
-put on tubulars
-adjust derailleurs
-differences between Sram, Campy, Shimano
-aero wheels
-aero helmets
-tire pressure
-cleaning techniques
-and much more
Drew Hettinga, the best mechanic in Chicago, will lead this seminar for everyone interested in learning more about your equipment. This is your chance to see and ask Drew what it is you would like to know. There are no dumb questions! It will be low key! And Drew will be wearing his work apron and thong...nothing else.
Should be a great discussion and one we all can learn something about!
Best Regards,
David Fix
